Message from founder
~ Edmond Kombat (Founder/CEO)
Oyster Agribusiness limited was birthed out of passion to change the narrative surrounding Agriculture since time immemorial. Agriculture has been regarded as an unattractive sector to the youth resulting in high levels of youth unemployment across Africa. This coupled with growing youth population requires Africa to act. Oyster is engaging in agriculture in a way that will attract the youth as the company is founded and managed by youth.
Agriculture has also earned the poor reputation as a low return high-risk venture. This is because of the use of inefficient tools, dependence on rainfall, use of low yielding seed varieties, low application of fertiliser and poor agriculture practices. Oyster is set up to improve the economic returns in Agriculture whilst managing the risk associated to enhance investor returns. Africa continually exports in raw form most of its produce leading to little to no value addition on the continent. This results in a significant part of the value being created off the shores of Africa leading to poverty for the primary producers.
Oyster seeks to continually add value to its produce to enhance value creation on the continent and increase the share of value to primary producers.
In summary, Oyster is set out on a mission to not only accrue significant social and economic returns to various stakeholders but also redefine the face of Agriculture by adding to the few success stories across the continent.
OYSTER'S EXECUTIVE SUMMARY
Agriculture has been regarded as an unattractive sector to the youth resulting in high levels of youth unemployment across Africa. This coupled with growing youth population which is about 77% of the total population in Africa requires Africa to act.
Transforming Agriculture.
Agriculture has also earned the poor reputation as a low return high-risk venture. This is because of the use of inefficient tools, dependence on rainfall, use of low yielding seed varieties, low application of fertiliser and poor agriculture practices. This has led to government being so dependent on import of agricultural goods to Africa year on year.
Growing Africa's Wealth.
Africa continually exports in raw form most of its produce leading to little to no value addition on the continent. This results in a significant part of the value being created off the shores of Africa leading to poverty for the primary producers.
Pioneering Agricultural Solutions
Oyster seeks to resolve part of these issues by focusing on various problems faced by agriculture through its young and vibrant leadership, helping to bring some light to how the youth in Africa could enter into the space and make substantial returns from it.

Our Team
Oyster Agribusiness seeks to be the largest vertically integrated agriculture company in Africa that will be able to impact the lives that matters most across its value chain sustainably whilst producing maximum economic returns to investors and the local economies it operates in.
